Truthful Tuesday- The Truth Is I Don’t Know

The Truth is I don’t know what I’m doing. Do you ever feel like you are just moving aimlessly through life, without knowing where you want to end up?

I don’t like the feeling of just wandering around without a destination in mind. When you live like that life can lose its appeal and your motivation suffers. I think it’s so important to live an intentional life, one that’s aligned with your purpose.

Purpose isn’t the right word though.

I’m currently reading, Act Like A Success Think Like A Success by Steve Harvey and he was talking about living your life not by what you are paid for but what you are made for. Are you utilising your God-given gift?

He described your gift as the single thing you do at your absolute best with the least amount of effort. It is something that is connected to you no matter what you are doing. It exists because you do. He’s also said not to confuse it with your passion which is a strong emotional attachment to something you do or your talent which is something that can be learned. You can become passionate about your gift and use your talents to facilitate your gift, but they are not your gift.

I’m quoting these definitions because it will allow you to understand that you gift is apart of you and can be transferred into every part of your life. It is not defined by a specific job either but it can be incorporated in your job. How you use you gift is limited only by your imagination, which means you can scale it however you want.

Reading that chapter this morning made me realise that idk what my gift is which can explain why I feel so unsatisfied with my life. I’m grateful for it but I feel like I’m missing out on something. Finding your gift requires some thought and journalling, although it should be something we can readily identify. However, I think our minds have been so crowded out with job titles and talents that we have buried that unique part of ourselves. So now we have to unearth it again.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this truthful Tuesday rambling session.

Thank you for reading.

  1. I think that doing something that you love is a gift in itself. If you are not doing something that brings joy, then it’s not a gift it’s just a means to an end. Some people never achieve that, others take a convoluted path to get there, and some are just lucky.
